Snowdeni jutu järgi jälgiti kõike ning kõiki. Kas arvad, et sõjaväe ohvitsere, jutuajamisi jms ei jälgitud? Loogiline nagu oleks, et jälgivad ka iseenda sõjaväe tegemisi, et avastada võimalikud spioonid, ülejooksikud vms.

Üks idiootsemaid artikleid Ukraina/Venemaa teemal siiani. 30 aatompommi viskavad Lääne-Euroopale. Otse loomulikult. |
"Lääs" tegi oma ähvardused ära. Venemaal on midagi vaja vastu seada. Keeravad gaasi kinni ? Kevad käes ja erilist efekti poleks + kaotaksid ise veel rohkem raha, mis hetkeolukorda paremaks ei teeks. Jääb alati vana hea tuumarelvaga ähvardamine. Töötab alati.

Venemaa katkestas diplomaatilised suhted Ukrainaga, teatas Venemaa alaline esindaja ÜRO-s Vitali Tšurkin. Tšurkini sõnul võeti selline otsus vastu, sest Moskva ei tunnista Ukraina praeguste võimude legitiimsust, vahendab UNIAN.

The continuing crisis in Ukraine has the reputedly peaceful Swedes rethinking the nation's defense doctrine, and some are using the situation as a way to push for NATO membership in the run-up to parliamentary elections.
Only a few weeks after announcing cuts to the defense budget, Finance Minister Anders Borg told the TT news agency Wednesday "there is a lot indicating" that more money will have to be allocated to military defense.
Much of the political debate leading up to the elections in September has been focused on the need to spend more on education and other domestic policies, so any hint that a boost to defense budgets is in the pipeline signals a dramatic U-turn.
In recent years, Swedish policy on defense has been based on the view that there are no conceivable threats to Swedish territory in the near term, and the military has been scaled down and reshaped to focus on participation in international operations. However, after Russia's recent military intervention in Crimea, politicians of different stripes are now saying there should be an expansion in the defense budget and a strengthening of the country's military presence on the strategically important island of Gotland in the Baltic sea.
Jan Björklund, who heads the center-right Liberal Party—a junior partner in Sweden's four-party coalition government—said Wednesday in interviews with reporters that Sweden now needs a "shift in doctrine," so that the main task of its defense force will once again be defending Swedish territory.
The center-right government, headed by Mr. Borg's Moderate party, is trailing in polls, and while the Moderates have traditionally been seen as defense-friendly, this week's debate is unlikely to turn the tide. During their almost eight years in power, the Moderate party has overseen a major shift away from a cold-war defense force designed to protect Sweden against a full-scale invasion to a smaller operation with a larger capacity to contribute to international operations, but which, according to its Supreme Commander Sverker Göranson, could only withstand a limited attack by an external enemy for one week.
While defense policy has moved to the center of the political debate in the past week, it rarely has a significant influence over election results, as parties in Sweden generally try to reach broad-based compromises on security and defense policy. An all-party defense committee that was supposed to complete its report on the needs of the Swedish defense force by March 31 has now had its mandate extended and will submit its proposals by May 15.
In an opinion piece in the Svenska Dagbladet daily Wednesday, Christian Democrat leader Göran Hägglund argued that no spending increase would be big enough to fully safeguard Swedish interests, and that Sweden should therefore consider membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
Although Sweden and its neighbor Finland have had a strong relationship with NATO, they have never joined it.
