She interpreted for Putin at the 2019 G20 meeting with Trump and later joined OSCE PA as a senior advisor.
Poland’s security services labeled her a risk.
“Her activities create a serious risk of provocation or incidents detrimental to Poland,” the interior ministry said after sanctioning her in 2022.
Putin’s interpreters are vetted by the FSB.
She is either cooperating with Russian intelligence or is a prime target for recruitment and surveillance inside international institutions.
Hungarian watchdogs warn of consequences.
Her role includes organizing meetings and attending all sessions. This creates a “chilling effect” on journalists, opposition and civil society.

Szijjarto, the foreign minister, made regular phone calls during breaks at E.U. meetings to provide his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, with “live reports on what’s been discussed” and possible solutions, one of the European security officials said.

Through such calls, “every single E.U. meeting for years has basically had Moscow behind the table,” the official said.

Szijjarto has made 16 official visits to Moscow since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, most recently on March 4 when he met with President Vladimir Putin. Szijjarto did not respond to a request for comment.
