Trump administration ends Biden-era anti-disinformation pact with European allies
The Trump administration has pulled the US out of agreements with 22 EU and African countries designed to combat disinformation from Russia, China and Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump does not believe Russia should be cut off from the global economy beyond the context of its war against Ukraine, Vice President JD Vance said in an interview with One America News Network published on Sept. 10.
tsitaat:
U.S. Vice President stated that the Russians want to gain around 6,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory that they have not seized by force, while Ukrainians seek security guarantees.
Also, according to Vance, Trump aims to end the war by applying pressure on both Russia and Ukraine.
Hungary has signed a 10-year gas supply agreement with Shell, taking one of the first steps towards diversification and reducing dependence on Russian supplies.
According to Foreign Minister Szijjártó, supplies will reach Hungary via Czech and German gas pipelines starting in 2026.
The EU plans to completely stop importing Russian gas by the end of 2027.
The man said he was "shocked but not surprised" by the immigration operation. He said the vast majority of the workers detained were mechanics installing production lines at the site, and were employed by a contractor.
Mulle on jäänud silma väited, et see bürokraatlik teema viisade ümber on igivana, lihtsalt varem on süsteemi muutmise asemel silm kinni pigistatud, sest investeeringutele pole mõtet kaikaid kodaratesse loopida.

The man said the time and administrative hurdles involved in obtaining US visas had encouraged foreign companies to cut corners in order to finish projects on time, but they might now need to reassess.
"I mean, after this happened, many companies will think again about investing in the United States because setting up a new project might take so much longer than before," he said, adding that many of those who were detained were specialists and finding local workers to replace them would not be easy.

Being undocumented in the United States, whether by crossing the border without authorization or overstaying a visa, is typically considered a civil violation rather than a criminal offense. Employers across the US rely on the federal E-Verify system, launched more than 20 years ago, to check the legal work eligibility of new hires. However, officials in the Trump administration criticized the system for being unreliable, without putting forward a more effective alternative.
tsitaat:
Georgia immigration attorney Charles Kuck told CNN two of his clients were detained at the raid after having arrived from South Korea under a visa waiver program which allows them to travel for tourism or business for up to 90 days.
One client arrived in the US last week, and the other arrived several weeks ago, he said.
“They were authorized to work in the US under a visa waiver,” Kuck said. “Each was pursuing activities consistent with the visa waiver program.”
The clients, both engineers, came to the US “to advise briefly on the work” and were planning to return to South Korea shortly, according to Kuck.
“This trip was actually part of their assigned duties abroad,” Kuck said.
Vale viisa? See on väga kõva statement.
At least one of the Korean workers swept up in a huge immigration raid on a Hyundai Motor factory site in Georgia last week was living and working legally in the US, according to an internal federal government document obtained by the Guardian.
Officials then “mandated” that he agree to be removed from the US despite not having violated his visa.

Natsid.
EAD (Employment Authorization Document) ei anna alust piiramatult riigis viibimiseks. On eraldi immigratsiooni ja töötamise load/staatused. Immigratsiooni staatus/seis võib muutuda näiteks kui ollakse kahtlustatav kuritöös (sh. kuritööle kaasaaitamisele), muutub midagi mis on viisa aluseks (haridustase, koduriigis midagi jne) ning lõppkokkuvõttes on viimane sõna USCIS-il.
Kirsina tordil - ICE omab õigust teha otsus kas isik on ohtlik avalikule korrale ja kui on siis on neil seaduslik õigus isik riigist välja saata. Küll aga sellisel juhul peab ICE läbima kohtuprotseduurid, niisama riigist välja saata ei saa ja sellisel juhul annab asju juba vaidlustada...

The incident has thrown Korea’s flagship investment projects in the US into disarray.
Sources said at least 22 other factory sites involving Korean business groups, in autos, shipbuilding, steel and electrical equipment, have been nearly halted.
Korean conglomerates, including semiconductor giants Samsung Electronics Co. and SK Hynix Inc., are heavily investing in US chip facilities, while Samsung SDI Co. and SK On Co. are building battery plants with their partners GM and Ford, respectively. Several of these sites rely on rotating teams of Korean engineers.
Korean companies with US interests have frozen travel plans and recalled staff already in the US over fears of further raids.
With H-1B and L-1 work visas, which are harder to obtain, in short supply, Korean firms have routinely rotated engineers through 90-day ESTA entries or short-term B-1 visas to meet tight construction schedules.
Industry officials in Seoul warn that unless visa arrangements for skilled Korean employees are settled through bilateral talks, investment timetables worth more than 140 trillion won ($101 billion) across multiple US states will face serious delays and cost overruns.
