See on täiesti masendav, et minuteada ainus võimalus legaalset HD ülekannet näha on Viasat Sport Baltic kui sa oled Viasati klient... Telia kliendina on see kanal endiselt ainult SD saadaval.

Aga seegi töötab vaid Suurbritannia pinnal ja petmiseks peaksid veel mingit proxy teenust kasutama... ja Streaming HD ei ole sama mis Broadcast HD... bitrate on striimimisel ikka tunduvalt madalam = pilt kehvem.
Sky enda boxiga saaks kasvõi tervet sõitu oma lemmik võistleja auto kaamerast jälgida.
Mina hanging netist lihtsalt niipalju hiljem Sky ülekande FullHD resoga. Olen ennast sellega ära rikkunud ja suure projektoriga SD pildi vaatamine on ikka eriti jube.

Monaco GP ajaks sain trialina RipperIPTV-d proovida. Miski 2-3 korda tõmbas bufferdama korraks aga muidu jooksis korralikult. Sky F1 saadaval nii 480p, 720p kui 1080p striimidena. Üldiselt nii 6-7mbps bitrate aga vahest käis ka seal 15mbps kandis, seega normaalset netti tarvis.

The Canadian GP - Preview

The Monaco GP was a terrible spectacle but the antidote is the Canadian GP in Montreal. The circuit de Gilles Villeneuve is used just once a year and as a result the track starts the week very ‘green’ and thus low on grip. That improves as the weekend progresses but it can catch some drivers out if they try and chase grip rather than being patient and waiting for it to come. The tarmac is also smooth and this adds to a low grip environment. Why is this important? Because Mercedes have a problem when they have to use the ultra soft tyres on low grip surfaces, especially if there are a lot of low speed corners involved, and this circuit ticks those boxes.
Mercedes are getting a bit moany about how sensitive the tyres are to get into the right operating window and that there is some Italian conspiracy between Pirelli and Ferrari to make tyres that suits Ferrari. Bollocks of course but its true to say that Ferrari and Vettel took the tyre testing duties more seriously than Mercedes and Hamilton, who didn’t do any of the test because ‘it was pointless’. Not the case apparently and it is symbolic of Vettel’s attention to detail that he put in the time, gathered more data and worked closely with Pirelli. So it’s little surprise that they are more comfortable with this year’s tyres than most teams. Tyres always haven a hugely important factor in an F1 cars performance, the tyres being the point of contact between the car and planet Earth.
What Mercedes do have for this race is Lewis Hamilton who has an outstanding record in Montreal, winning five times. Every time he has finished, he has been on the podium, but the tricky nature of the track is reflected in the fact that he has also retired three times. Much of the circuit is lined by concrete barriers and a mistake that would have very little repercussion on most circuits, can result in instant retirement.
The track features long straights running into slow corners which puts a big strain on the brakes. The many kerbs are also an integral part of the track and to get a good lap time a driver needs to be able to ride the kerbs which can take its toll on suspensions and this is a bit of a car breaker. Late retirements are common and it is a race that often produces great drama with accidents and breakdowns changing the order.
Rain is often a feature of the race but the forecast for this weekend is for a partly cloudy weekend with temperatures in the mid-twenties with only a 40% chance of a thunderstorm late on Saturday so it looks to be dry one for the drivers.
It seems Lewis Hamilton’s fantastic track record has been enough for the bookies to install him as the 11/8 marginal favourite with Vettel, the championship leader as 8/5 second favourite. I would make Vettel the favourite, given the concerns about tyres for Mercedes. The biggest threat to Vettel is that he is running out of PU components and at some point he will need to take a grid penalty, That may not necessarily be here but it will come soon, if for example he needs another new turbo unit.
Raikkonen showed a bit of his old speed in qualifying around Monaco, but in the race he just wasn’t as good as Vettel when it counted and he lost out at the pit stop. This has not been a great race for Raikkonen with just one win and one podium from thirteen starts while Vettel has one win, two seconds and a third from eight.
In the other Mercedes, Bottas has finished third here for the last two years for Williams so this is a track on which he has performed well on. It was interesting that Bottas didn’t suffer as badly as Hamilton did in Monaco, nor at Sochi, and the Finn is being very consistent if not as quick as Hamilton, when the car is in the sweet spot. He doesn’t seem to be so easily derailed by the problem and I would back him to beat Hamilton if it were not the Brits awesome record around this track. It will be interesting to see the odds come Saturday and Sunday for the match bets. It should certainly pay to keep a very close eye on Bottas anytime Hamilton is complaining, especially about the tyres and with three power sensitive circuits in a row coming up, his next win may be due very soon. He says he is getting better with every race and Hamilton might have more to worry about than just Sebastian Vettel.
Red Bull has had back to back podiums now, even if Ricciardo’s 3rd in Spain was thanks to Verstappen and Raikkonen retiring. The Red Bull is improving but with Ferrari and Mercedes also pushing development, they can’t close the gap enough to compete for front rows and wins. Of course this was the race where they were expecting to have a re-vamped Renault power unit, one that would close the gap to Mercedes and Ferrari power, but it seems to have been put on hold due to reliability concerns. It seems that Renault is improving their power unit in small increments rather than a radicle re-design, at least for the mean time. A lack of power for the next three power hungry races is bad news for an already very disappointing Red Bull team. They may even begin to feel the hand of Force India on their shoulder in the race for third in the championship.
There are long straights on the Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve which means that its power sensitive and that lack of power will hurt Red Bull, Renault and most of all McLaren with the embarrassing Honda PU. Honda, like Renault, was targeting this race to introduce its big PU upgrade but the latest news is that they may delay it, even the team do not know yet. With this, Baku and Austria all being power sensitive tracks a power upgrade would be of great benefit, but for McLaren drivers, they would have to take a grid penalty for putting in a new PU as they have already got though their allocation of PU components.
Haas got both cars into the points at Monaco but this is a very different challenge and with the premium on braking and managing brake wear and temperature, that is a part of their car which has been very weak, this could be very limiting for Haas. Magnussen’s weekend will be further compromised by having to sit out FP1 to give new reserve driver, Antonio Giovinazzi, a run. Giovinazzi stepped in at Sauber at the start of the season to cover for Wehrlein at Sauber and he proved to be expensive with a number of big crashes. On a tricky track like this, it would be no surprise to see him damaging Magnussen’s car, which would be a disaster for the Dane if it ate into his FP 2 track time.
Force India’s run of double points finishes came to an end in Monaco but there is no need for them to panic. Monaco is atypical of most other circuits so a bad result there is no indication that you will have similar problems elsewhere. They have the advantage of Mercedes power which should be enough to lift them back into the points again.
Williams will like most of the lap here, with just the slow corners causing them grief, that and two weak drivers. Massa, past his best by date, and Stroll not yet ready for racing at this level, in these cars. They are costing the team prize money and I wonder if the chief bean counters at Williams have done a cost benefit analysis of employing a cheap Massa and a big paying but crash happy Stroll, who is using up spares at an alarming rate. They should be in the hunt for a few points and it would be good for Stroll to do it on home soil but it’s hard to see why. He is being destroyed by Massa in qualifying, averaging over six grid places worse than his team mate. Embarrassing. It may be his home race but I am pretty sure he has never raced on it and it is a tricky track to get right and mistakes are heavily punished.
Toro Rosso had a 6th in Monaco but this more power sensitive circuit is not going to suit them as well but it must be said that their car seems to go well on almost any sort of circuit and Sainz will be looking for his sixth points finish of the season. Renault had a mare in Monaco and a return to a more ‘normal’ circuit will help but they have to improve reliability and power, two weaknesses in the car. Sauber introduced a lot of updates in Monaco which certainly didn’t work, but maybe they will be more effective here? Possibly but they have the handicap of an old Ferrari PU in their car which will be a handicap here.
So it all comes down to the tyres again. Will Mercedes be able to get the ultra-softs into the correct operating window or will they continue to struggle with that tyre, especially in slow corners? We can almost assume that Ferrari will turn up and not have the same problems, giving them a healthy advantage. Mercedes do not have the performance margin over their rivals anymore so any problems will cost them grid position and probably the race. Nobody else can challenge Ferrari unless we have extraordinary circumstances, which, with no rain forecast, seems unlikely.
If Mercedes has made progress in this area, then they have two track specialists behind the wheel and we would have a three way battle for the race. I am discounting Raikkonen despite his mini revival in Monaco after the birth of his second child as he doesn’t have the same pace as Vettel, and Ferrari would rather the German carries on winning in any case. Vettel’s track record isn’t bad but he has only converted three poles into one win.
Hamilton is the track specialist without a doubt and his Mercedes is a race winning car, when everything is working fine, but there are question marks as to whether they will be able to get the ultra-soft tyres to work on this particular circuit. Hamilton seems to struggle more with the problem than Bottas and when Hamilton struggles it really shows. Bottas seems to be able to manage the problem better (he was only a fraction of a second off pole position in Monaco, while Hamilton could only manage 13th) and he may be the better Mercedes driver this weekend.
There are arguments for backing Bottas, his odds of 13/2 being one. However to beat Hamilton on his favourite track is a big ask and if Bottas does it because Mercedes has a problem with the tyres, then Bottas still has a problem to deal with. Everything keeps coming back to Ferrari having the better car, especially on these ‘soft’ compounds, and Vettel is a very quick driver. I have to back my favourite.

With the trackside walls being so punishing at Montreal there is the scope for one or two of the big boys not making it to the finish. In that case we may see a strange face on the podium. Red Bull could be struggling on a track that is not expected to suit them so there is an outside chance of a Mercedes powered customer car getting a rare podium. Grosjean (Lotus-Renault) and Perez (Sauber) finished on the podium here in 2012 after qualifying 7th and 13th respectively after running a good race strategy. That will be harder to do with these Pirelli tyres that aren’t degrading to any great degree but if there is anyone who could grind out a fortunate podium it’s Perez. He has done it before, five times on the podium including here, and he was unlucky to be taken out of the race by a Massa lunge very late in the race when he was 4th, having been running in 2nd until his brakes started to give up.
