Bethesda Software today announced Dishonored, a new first-person title from Arkane Studios developed for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Dishonored is set for release in 2012.
"At Arkane we have a passion for creating deep, immersive game experiences," said Colantonio. "To be able to finally share details of our project is both extremely exciting and satisfying."
Bethesda acquired the studio last summer. The team previously developed Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. One of the original Deus Ex game designers, Harvey Smith, is also working on the project.
The game will be on the cover of the August issue of GameInformer Magazine, where it's described as having stealth elements. You also apparently don't have to kill anyone and includes some sort of morality system where your actions affect the world around you.

Q: Viktor Antonov (the art director of Half-Life 2 and visionary behind City 17) is involved in the project. What’s his role on Dishonored?
A: Viktor is our Visual Concept Designer, working side by side with our Art Director, Sebastien Mitton. Dishonored has its own distinct look and any similarities to other games is either coincidental or a byproduct of Viktor’s very recognizable signature design style. Some elements of Dishonored’s look are driven by the alternate industrial revolution in our fiction. Other aspects of the art direction are deliberately impressionistic, as a creative choice.

A: The game was in early development before we joined Bethesda.
