Before we go any further, please check if your card is a payment method accepted on the PlayStation Store. You can confirm this on our website at https://www.playstation.com/support/store/payment-methods-accepted-on-ps-store/.
To troubleshoot your issue, I also recommend that you confirm the following:
• Make sure credit/debit card is registered to the same country as the account for PlayStation Network.
• Make sure you're entering the card holder's name exactly as it appears on the card and that the billing address is exactly correct
If you've confirmed that this is all correct, please wait 24 hours without making any attempts to add the card to your account. After this time, please try to add the card again.
Should you continue to experience issues adding the card, please contact your payment provider for further assistance. In the meantime, if you would like to make a purchase from the PlayStation Store we would recommend that you purchase PSN money vouchers as a temporary workaround.

Hi,
I have confirmed that my card is accepted payment method on PlayStation Network as it is a VISA card.
My VISA debit card is registered in Ireland, so is my PlayStation Network account. Both in the same country.
I tried to enter my full name as “...”, also “MR ...” as it is on my bank statements.
I did the same with my address. Still no luck.
There is no issue with my payment provider, as the same card works perfectly fine with Amazon, Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, eBay etc. With ALL OTHER SERVICES.
Can you please advise.

Thank you for your recent contact with PlayStation support.
I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems registering your credit or debit card on your account. To successfully register card to an account on the PlayStation Network there are a few things you would need to check first.
1 - Make sure the credit/debit card is registered to the same country as the account for PlayStation Network.
2 - Make sure that you are entering the card holders name exactly as it appears on the card.
3 - Make sure that you are entering the billing address exactly as it is on file with the card provider. You may need to double check this with them as there can sometimes be discrepancies in the way addresses are recorded on different databases.
If you are still unable to add the card please contact the card provider directly to check with them if there is any block on their end. This is important even if you are able to register the card on other websites, as a block may be service specific.
If the issue persists and you need to get back in touch please provide the following:
1 - A screen shot of the error message you receive when trying to register your card.
2 - The type of card you are attempting to register.
3 - The platform you are using to register the card (i.e., PS4, PS5, website)
4 - A time stamp for your last attempt to register it (date and exact time).
5 - Confirmation of what the card provider advised when you contacted them.
Once we have this we can investigate further. In the meantime you can continue to use an alternative payment method or wallet top up vouchers on your account. Your case reference number is ... .

Thank you for your reply.
1 – My VISA debit was issued in Ireland by Allied Irish Banks. My PSN account is registered to Ireland.
2 – I entered my name correctly as it is on the card.
3 – I entered my billing address correctly as it is on my bank statements.
The issue is still there..
1 – See the attached screenshots
2 – VISA debit
3 – PS5 and PlayStation website
4 – Around 20:35 (on the PlayStation website) and 21:15 (on my PS5 console) Dublin time @ 20/3/2023
5 – I called my bank (AIB) and described my issue. They advised there are no blocks or limitations on my card.
Please advise how to proceed next.

I have taken a look into your account, and I can confirm that I am not seeing any attempts to add a payment method on our side since the 17th of March. This would indicate that either you are logged into a different account, or you are entering the incorrect details which is why it isn't reaching our systems.
With this in mind, I would advise you to get back in touch with the payment provider to confirm every detail about the card and then attempt to add the payment method again and if you are still having trouble, please provide us a brand new timestamp.

See the error message below from the PlayStation Store website:
I have contacted my bank already and they have confirmed me there are no limitations or blocks at their side.
The same VISA card works fine with my Amazon, eBay, Nintendo and Xbox services.

As you have already made several failed attempts we recommend that you wait at least 24 hours before trying again to ensure that you don't trigger also any block from our automated security checks.
If you wish to add funds to your account as soon as possible we recommend that you purchase PSN money vouchers which are available through many major game retailers.

Hi,
I tried to add my VISA debit card again today at 16:16 Dublin time. Still no luck.
Also tried to add my Mastercard at 16:34 (issued by N26 bank) and no luck with that either. See the attached screenshots with the error message.
I called my bank today who issued my VISA card and they were able to do a bit of investigating. They told me that Sony PlayStation Store is not using the secure SCA method for online payments, that's why it's getting rejected.
Can you please look further into this if you can use SCA security for card payments as this is a requirement in Europe:

Võttis aega, aga tundub, et sain täna teada, miks Sony PlayStation Store ühtegi pangakaarti ei aktsepteeri. Proovisin täna PS Stores oma Visa ja Mastercardi uuesti lisada - kumbki ei tööta. Helistasin siis juba kolmandat korda panka ja palusin neil väheke rohkem uurida. Pika uurimise peale öeldi, et Sony ei kasuta oma online poes turvalist SCA autentimismeetodit, mida Euroopas nõutakse ja sellepärast ei saa ka kaarte maksevahendina kasutada. Vot siis! Saatsin Sony-le vastuse, et ehk viivad oma maksesüsteemi EEA-ga vastavusse.

Saaga, mis on juba üle kuu aja kestnud, käib edasi.
Sony näitab näpuga minu panga poole, tegelikult nüüd mõlemi, kuna PlayStation Store ei aktsepteeri ei Iirimaa kohalikku AIB panka ega ka N26 panka. Sony arvates on mõlemad pangad süüdi (blokeerivad PlayStation Store), kuigi nende samade deebetkaartidega töötavad mul absoluutselt kõik muud teenused (Google, Xbox, Nintendo, Amazon, Paypal, eBay etc). Pangad näitavad näpuga Sony suunas, viidates sellele, et vaadates nende error logisid, siis PlayStation Store ei kasuta SCA-ga ühilduvat maksesüsteemi, mis on Euroopas kohustuslik.

I can advise that our payments system does use SCA, in the form of 3D Secure 2 (3DS2).
We are not receiving widespread reports of similar issues from other users, which we would expect if there was indeed a problem with our payment system and can only reiterate to you that your attempts to add the card are being blocked by your card provider.
You can add funds to your account via PlayStation Network money voucher, or an alternative payment method available in your region.

Mul vist PSNi algusest peale "Friends Only" peal olnud. Kes väga on tahtnud kontakti saada on sõbraks lisanud. Mingitel suvakatel tavaliselt midagi head öelda ei ole.
Ainuke trikk, kuidas suvalised saavad sõnumi saata, on see kui loovad grupi ja lisavad su, enne grupi kutse vastu võtmist siis juba ilmuvad nende sõnumid, kunagi vihastasin ühe tegelease nii välja, et ta võttis selle vaeva ette, et sõimama hakata. See oli PS4ja peale, võimalik, et nüüdseks muudetud.

Selles asi ongi, et inimesed lähevad pigem Redditisse kiunuma. Selle asemel, et Sony supportiga ühendust võtta. Niimodi ei jõuagi sama murega inimeste kaebused Sony-ni.

Ma olen Sony-ga ule 2 kuu kirjavahetuses ja telefonivestlustes olnud, saatsin neile isegi telefonikone salvestused pankadega, korrutavad sama asja - pangad "kiusavad" neid ja blokeerivad Sony tehinguid, mis on naeruvaarne. Molemad pangad on oelnud, et see on levinud probleem Sony-ga, kuna nad ei kasuta piisavat turvalisust (SCA compliant). Nende support on taiesti kasutu selles osas. Seda on mitmed ka Redditis maininud. Eks inimestel ole usk kadunud, minnakse mujale kaebama.
Tegin spetsiaalselt Sony parast nuud omale krediitkaardi ka. Nagu arvata vois - see ei toimi, PS Store ei aktsepteeri.
Mujal tootab probleemideta.
