Canon Wants to Make the Impossible Possible, Teases Big Announcement on October 7
Canon is a company that’s well known for its innovations in the photographic industry. And even as Photokina 2014 has passed and the EOS 7D Mark II has finally been revealed, leaving a big void in our hearts, the company strikes back with something extremely juicy.

The Japan-based company has just posted a pretty cryptic teaser message on its website, taking a blow at all the “excuses, distraction, procrastination, inertia, critics, cynic, realist, pessimists, conversation wisdom” and such that claimed “it can’t be done.”

Canon seems to have achieved some major breakthrough, an achievement everybody was pretty skeptic of.

Basically, the company is saying that the impossible is coming our way soon. When will this happen? Well, sooner than you might have imagined – on October 7. So, in a few hours, we’re going to see something major come out of Canon, but what could it be?
So, what is it?

Since Canon is using pretty big words here, we can go wild and speculate all we want. Remember that the rumor mill said not so long ago that a big-megapixel Canon camera might be launched soon, as soon as mid-October.

This is a pretty solid theory, as it would make sense for the company to roll out a camera to beat its existing 36MP Nikon D810.

On top of that, Canon itself has claimed to be sitting on some juicy news about big-megapixel sensors and mirrorless cameras.

Remember that, in a recent interview, Canon’s own Managing Director and Chief Executive of Image Communication Products Operation, Masaya Maeda, hinted towards plans of bringing out a mirrorless camera with a full frame sensor.

He talked about the market’s need for “miniaturization,” which comes in the wake of smartphone photography becoming super popular with users around the globe.

Surely, his affirmations are a double-edged sword. After all, Maeda might have referred to medium format cameras, which were rumored a while back.

Competing companies like Nikon, Sony, and Mamiya have all been rumored to be working on medium format cameras, so it makes sense that Canon won’t miss the train either.

At the timing of this writing, the countdown on the official website reveals we still have 15:57 hours to go before the official announcement.
